NAVIO robotics-assisted Knee Arthroplasy system is a portable device that provides surgeons with all necessary anatomical data to prepare the bone very precisely over more than one control mechanism for replacement surgery. It is one of the current treatment options for traumatic and/or spontaneous (primary) knee osteoarthritis. NAVIO Robotics-assisted knee arthroplasty system is used for knee replacement surgeries, where the knee joint is not totally replaced. The patient’s anatomical data is uploaded to a digital medium in surgery. The patient-specific three-dimensional data is processed on computer by the surgeon and thus, components of prosthesis with appropriate size are placed to fit patient’s anatomy precisely. The device’s software applications assist the surgeon to place prostheses to the most precise location in a balanced manner by locating anatomical structures of the knee joint through visualization of the soft tissue balance with mathematical values.
Three dimensional NAVIO device converts anatomical features of the patient into a virtual surgical planning. It allows checking and changing, if required, the standard mechanical shaving plan for diseased cartilage tissues before any incisions are made for surgery (digitally on computer unit of the device). It minimizes irreversible incision and shaving errors.
